Smoooooth Grooooovveee

Well, look what I found this morning. This must be a joke and I can't believe that this woman has just admitted to the world that camel toe was something that she had such problems with she decided to do something about it.

"SmoothGroove" is "made from a medical grade polymer which moulds itself to the contours of the body," and is shaped sort of like a panty liner. You wear SmoothGroove against bare skin, underneath your underwear or even alone(?) with leggings. Then as the picture depicts, no more camel toe!!!!

Yummy!

A entrepreneur Susan Laurie came up with the erm interesting idea, after suffering from the "personal embarrassment" her self! Okay Susan? What ever floats your boat? According to the SmoothGroove website "a staggering 55% of women, irrespective of age, size or weight, experience camel toe at some point". Where they have got these statistics from I'm rather unclear?

This is a clear case of more money than sense!

Stupidly funny either way!

To Topshop Or Not To Topshop?

Most bestsellers were that of luxury goods, which I think everyone was very impressed with. You can tell that people have saved their hard earned cash up and gone 'you know what actually I deserve that slightly more expensive jumper'. But this is were my debate lies, fashion is always going to be that of see it, buy it now, however there is a generation of see it and have it, want it, need it. The slightly younger generation will spend their parents cash willy nilly just to have the next 'In' thing.

But I think the slightly older generation, are saying, 'Well, yes I want that dress but am I going to pay £40 for it, at that quality? Am I fuck?'. I think Topshop and other high street names have learnt this lesson the hard way. We expected hordes of people on Boxing Day knocking down the doors, however it was fairly laid back. People are choosing very carefully what they spend their money on, and as a result the high street are being forced to source their material in a higher quality. While keeping their prices at a budget.

Primark, go to show that the want it, have it now generation will boom in this type of format. Realistically though how long is that Primark pair of shoes really going to last. Will they keep your feet warm and dry next winter too? Lets face it, they are hardly going to see you through this winter!

So as my point always is, buy things only when necessary. Something that suits you, just because its in fashion doesn't mean you should be wearing it. Nothing says I know fashion and how to dress than something that suits your figure. Maybe we should take a leaf out of the Men of Todays handbook - only go into a shop, when you know what you want!

Just some food for thought!

Japanese Street Fashion - Ganguro

Japanese Street Fashion is something that has grown with time and with the influence of western culture.

Ganguro is just a sub-category of many themes. It tends to be orange or blonde hair teamed with tanned skin and bright dramatic make up. It is popular among young Japanese women, who have rebelled against their traditional style of pale skin, dark hair and complimentary skin tones.

I have some odd obsession with extremities its probably why I like Ke$ha so much!

White concealer is used as lipstick and as eyeshadow. They are great believers in fake everything and using plastic gems to stick on their face! The brighter the better and platforms are a must, along with stickers on your face, and as much jewelry as you can get on! These girls get a lot of bad press for their short or tight clothing.

But just in case you were wondering how to achieve this look heres a lovely video courtesy of Youtube,

All in all pretty silly, however what I want to take from this is its fun to experiment with make up and I have a friend who pulls of these looks so well so maybe you'll hit the nail on the head. Plus its not easy to do make up that perfectly.

Statements

There is a big lesson to be learnt in every fashionistas life and that is, one must stop themselves buying for the sake of having the next big thing because 'everyones got one'.

My mum would always say 'I don't care everyones got one your not having one'. To my disappointment she held her end of the bargain only my auntie would buy my barbie dolls.

So 'Statement Pieces' is something that you must drill into your mind, because unless you've stumbled across a diamond mine or have a stupidly well paid job then your not going to be able to buy the next big thing without turning off the heating for a day or two.

This in mind you must also remember just because short shorts are in does not mean you have the right to wear them at any given chance - thats a lesson to us all. You see working in Topshop does lend its self to letting you think you can get away with wearing anything you want to any occasion.

Also I know that fake leather look that Topshop are so fond of is reserved for people with no lumps and bumps and if you want to fit ya ass into them you gotta do the work to look good in them.

So I searched the internet for a few 'Statement Pieces', you must remember you gotta get ya basis down too.

ASOS, is just a little gem I think we all know this!

Collar Tips, what a great way to jazz up any shirt, gives it character and makes it that detail that adds glamour and value to any outfit.

Of course any addition to a shirt, or a collar to a top will take it from a day to evening outfit.

Now harness' are in fashion and you will find necklace type's too. However when I saw this I fell in love. Its so beautiful. Obviously you have to be VERY careful about what you team these with. Its like the cleavage and leg rule.

Everyone and I mean everyone should have a good collection of scarfs. They complete most outfits. Its good to make sure your scarf doesn't clash with your hair, if you were to have oddly coloured hair!

Now Fur, real or not, is something I'm yet to learn how to wear. I'd prefer to save it for my older age! But this would make any boring coat look luxurious.
Florals and Pastels are a big thing for S/S12. This blazer is perfect for any summer outfit, or for a night out.
I've fallen in love with these waistcoats recently. Don't ask me why its something I've just discovered. I'm slow on that update (my personal journey and that!).

Belts tie in any outfit, I like this one, however its one of those ones where you have to be careful what and when you wear it.

I'm loving this shape and waterfall style of this wrap jacket. This would style up and mature any office outfit. 9-5 doesn't have to be boring because no body else knows how to have fun with clothes.

Now last but not least are these darling little socks, they remind me of being very little in my Mary Janes. I have to say, I have a pair that I like to wear with my wedges from Tescos little girls section, I'm not sure I can put that down to personal journey.

So go forth and lose some drab pieces from your wardrobe and replace with statements that are going to make you stand out. Fake eyelashes and nails do not count.
